Reading the same book twice is not something I do but will certainly be keeping this one on hand for a holiday read in the future. The end of the book does seem to come to a sudden stop, and i was left wondering what was going to happen next, did wonder if the author had done this on purpose so 20 years later could do a follow up, I do hope so. No sooner had Chris Stewart set eyes on El Valero than he handed over a check. Took me 3 days to read, had me captured in the story from the first to last page, just wish i'd had the courage to do the same thing 30 years ago. A funny, generous, wonderfully written account of a family making a life and home in remote but enchanting southern Spainfrom the first drummer of the rock band Genesis. I couldn't wait for the following day to arrive so I could pick up where I'd left off. Sat down that evening with a cup of coffee and book in hand and 85 pages later. I'd tried previously to buy the book about 6 months ago after hearing about it on a cooking programme but couldn't get hold of a copy anywhere, by chance overheard someone mention it again, looked and found a copy for sale and then couldn't wait for it to arrive. A wonderful journey through a place called Andalucia.
